Architecture Film Award – Open call 2020

Submissions for the International Architecture Film Award (AFA) are open until 30th June 2020!

The annual Award, promoted by Milano Design Film Festival in partnership with the Order of Architects P.P.C of the Province of Milan and its Foundation, is open to persons over 21 years of age of any nationality. The works must have been carried out during the 2017—2020 three-year period. Terms of registration and submission of materials: by the 30th June 2020.

The winners will be announced in October 2020, during the eighth edition of the MDFF, which will have as its theme Reconnect.

A jury of experts will select the winners among films (fiction, documentaries, feature films, short films) on the subjects of architecture and landscape. The purpose of the Award is to encourage the production of cinematographic works on these subjects and to encourage and motivate architects in the use of audiovisual language as a means of communication.

There are two categories in competition:
Architecture’s film: films (medium and full-length films) of stories of ancient, modern and contemporary architecture.
Studio’s film: audiovisual projects (short films) commissioned by architectural firms to promote their project activities.
